The day that LIAO is released from prison, NAN is forced into retirement from his job as a senior detective. LIAO, who has left his past as a pickpocket behind, wants to find the young pickpocket who once saw him as a father figure. Meanwhile, NAN is trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter. With the added pressure of confronting their old enemies, they are both desperate to find a glimmer of hope and will stop at nothing to turn their situations around.
