Synopsis

In a dystopian Japan that has closed its borders to the outside world, old people have stopped aging, while children are expected to die young. A boy and his great-grandfather face the perils of a dysfunctional society that have haunted their family across generations.

Adapted from the novel THE EMISSARY of Tawada Yoko winner of National Book Award in Translated Literature in 2018.
