At the age of 50, unemployed Yang San-eii is passionate about constructing a Japanese wood joinery house from scratch. This mammoth project, entirely dependent on the income from his wife’s restaurant, makes Yang the subject of gossip around town. 

AFTER PASSING AWAY exhibits the housing price inflation and unanimous modern buildings while questioning the dialectics of "home" and "house." The meaning of home is physically constructed and deconstructed simultaneously with the departure of Yang’s daughters as they begin to have their own families. Will Yang be able to complete his dream house and maintain his family ?
