Flash Forward Entertainment (FFE) was established in 2002 by veteran producer Patrick Mao HUANG. The Production credits include the 2023 Cannes selection title, TIGER STRIPES by Amanda Nell Eu, Yulin WANG‘s IN THE MORNING OF LA PETITE MORT ( 2022 Tallinn Black Nights Critics’ Picks Competition), C.B. Yi's MONEYBOYS (2021 Cannes Un Certain Regard), Midi Z’s ICE POISON, POOR FOLK and RETURN TO BURMA; Leste Chen's ETERNAL SUMMER; Jay Shih's animation A FISH WITH A SMILE; Shen Ko-Shang's feature documentary BASEBALL BOYS and National Geographic Channel commissioned documentary THE PIGEON GAME; Widing HO’s Discovery documentary KING LIU AND HIS GIANT BICYCLE; TV series AMOUR ET PATISSERIE. FFE also co-produces with France on the MR experience COLORED, which premiered at the Pompidou Centre and was selected for the Tribeca Festival.

FFE has also worked with many international productions from the US and Europe, further gaining much experience in international co-production. FFE's productions have won many awards at Cannes, Berlin, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taiwan, Seoul, and Edinburgh, among others. The company is also a highly respected theatrical film distributor in Taiwan. FFE distributed LOU YE’s SU ZHOU RIVER, which is still one of the most well-known Chinese film classics to the Taiwanese audience. FFE also distributed Bi GAN’s KAILI BLUES and created a phenomenon in Taiwan, one of the top box-office records for Chinese independent films ever released in Taiwan.

Moreover, ICE POISON, with its world premiere in the 2014 Berlinale Panorama, was selected as the official Taiwan entry for the 87th Academy Awards Best Foreign Language Film. Midi Z’s new film THE ROAD TO MANDALAY, also produced by HUANG and FFE, won the FEDORA Award for Best Film at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival and went on to receive six nominations in all major categories including Best Film and Best Director from Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan. AN IMPOSSIBLY SMALL OBJECT, a film directed by David VERBEEK and co-produced with The Netherlands and Croatia while FFE is the main producer, was selected for the Big Screen Award Competition in 2018 IFFR. In 2018, SUBURBAN BIRDS, directed by QIU Sheng, has been to Xining Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, Bordeaux Independent Film Festival, and Gent Film Fest while being selected for different competition sections.

FFE's latest co-production TIGER STRIPES was awarded Grand Prix in the 2023 Cannes Critics' Week. As to the International sales side of FFE, the Taiwanese hand-puppet film DEMIGOD: The Legend Begins, has been selected and invited to over thirty international film festivals including Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival, IFFR, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, BAFICI Film Festival, and so on. Another Taiwanese hit film of 2020, YOUR NAME ENGRAVED HEREIN, was licensed to Netflix worldwide.
