Synopsis
Not every child can be born smoothly in the process of relocation of the Three Gorges Reservoir area. Hong Fen originally lives in a village that is 800 meters above sea level. However, due to the education opportunity for the 8-year-old daughter and construction plan of the great dam, the family has to move to under 500 meters above sea level. Here they have to obey China’s Family Planning Policy that people are not allowed to have a second child. Unfortunately, Hong Fen finds out that she is pregnant again and it catches local officials’ attention, which caused a dark turmoil to the family. They have to decide whether to stay at 500M or escape to mountains again to keep the child.
